Keep the parts that still make sense
If your house already has ductwork, a ducted heat pump can use that distribution system while replacing aging central AC or carrying much of the heating load.
For cold snaps, we plan the existing boiler or furnace as backup rather than pretending it does not exist. The goal is a house that stays comfortable, not a sales pitch with an asterisk.
A proper design starts room by room
We calculate what each room loses at Bangor’s -7°F design temperature, then match the system to the actual load. Your quote shows the cold-weather output so you can understand the plan before work begins.
